DENIM

THIS IS PART OF A TWO MONTH INTERNSHIP AT ARVIND. WORKING IN THE DESIGN INOVATION DEPARTMENT (DID) UNDER R’N’D HEAD DEBASISH HALDER AND DESIGN DEPARTMENT HEAD SHAHEEN SHAH.

THIS COLLECTION WAS MADE TO PROMOTE A NEW TYPE OF DENIM FROM THE INNOVATION COLLECTION. THE DENIM USES STAINLESS STEEL FILAMENTS IN THE YARN TO GIVE THE GARMENT MORE OF A STRUCTURAL LOOK, AND TO GIVE THE FABRIC A LONGER LIFE. THE STEEL FRAGMENTS ALSO HELP KEEP A LOT OF THE PURPOSEFUL WRINKLES, LINES AND OTHER SURFACE MANUPILATIONS OF THE DENIM GIVING THE GARMENT MORE CHARACTER.

THE COLLECTION WAS MADE TO PROMOTE A NEW KIND OF RANGE OF DENIMS MADE BY THE COMPANY. MY JOB WAS TO MAKE A SET OF GARMENTS TO SHOWCASE THE FABRIC AND THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT WASHES AND SURFACE WORK ON THE FABRIC. THESE GARMENTS WERE THEN USED IN THE PROMOTION OF THE FABRIC RANGE.
